Accidental Archivism

November 23rd, 2022

Did you know that literally nobody has archived the manual for "cult classic" Nintendo DS game Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective? I sure as hell didn't. I naturally assumed every retail Nintendo DS game had already been fully archived, seeing as they are—you know—Nintendo DS retail games, and not never-before-seen McDonald's employee training tools.

Apparently not, however! So, I took it upon myself to try and do the archival work myself. I didn't do a great job; I used a home printer instead of a professional scanner, and I couldn't figure out how to keep the pages aligned, so there's some awkward empty space at the bottom and left side of my scan. Nonetheless, it's up now for future perusal via the Internet Archive. I've also uploaded the raw scans onto my Google Drive in case anyone wants to take a crack at cleaning them up.

I'll try and keep an eye out for any other games that haven't had their manuals scanned in the future. You can find any future scans in the "delicious CONTENT" section of this website.

As for stuff I actually made, I'd like to try and start prototyping an idea for a slow, contemplative narrative game I had about a year ago. Whether or not I actually end up seeing it through is anyone's guess, though.

Well, bye.
